In honor of May 9, Day of Remembrance and Honor, veterans and disabled individuals of World War II will receive a one-time cash reward of 30 million soums. This was announced during a government meeting chaired by the president Mirziyoyev on Thursday.
The day will also focus on honoring veterans, the elderly, and mentors. Plans include renovating the homes of solo and low-income veterans, alongside various commemorative and ceremonial events.
Furthermore, the government will pay tribute to the memories of servicemen who lost their lives in the line of duty during the years of independence, providing their families with both financial and emotional support.
Across the country, spiritual, educational, and patriotic events will be held under the motto "Duty, Courage, Resilience!" These will feature intergenerational gatherings, creative evenings, competitions, and sporting events.
For context, veteran payouts topped $10,000 in 2025 and 20 million soums in 2024.
