The president Mirziyoyev signed the Additional measures to expedite the socio-economic development of Jizzakh province in 2026-2027 Decree.
The decree has the set following as the main goals for the sustainable socio-economic development of the Jizzakh province in 2026-2027:
- an average annual growth of gross provincial product by 8.5%, industrial production by 7.8%, market services by 13.2%, and agricultural production by 4.6%;
- reducing the unemployment rate by 3% and the poverty rate by 2.8% in 2026, transforming the Jizzakh city, Sharof Rashidov, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Dustlik, Zomin, and Zafarabad districts into areas free from poverty and unemployment.
- 5 thousand hectares of old orchards and vineyards to be renewed in 57 mahallas specializing in gardening in Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Zomin, Forish and other districts.
- 5 business districts shall be set up in Sharof Rashidov, Dustlik, Gallaorol, Arnasay and Zafarobod districts, covering 40 mahallas.
- 40 hectares of vacant land between the city of Jizzakh and the Sharof Rashidov district shall be allocated for the New Jizzakh City project for 50 multi-storey buildings with 1,200 apartments.
