Dense fog, which persisted in Tashkent city from evening until early morning, disrupted airport operations. Dozens of flights were diverted to other airports and neighboring countries.
Fog persisted in the capital throughout Thursday, but by the afternoon, visibility at the airport began to drop to less than 2,000 meters, and by approximately 7:30 PM, it was below 1,000 meters (METAR data). At 8:30 PM, visibility further dropped to 450 meters, at 9:00 PM, it plummeted to 200 meters, and by 11:30 PM, it was only 50 meters.
From 4:30 AM to 7:30 AM, Tashkent Airport received approximately 15 flights, but by 8:00 AM, visibility at the airport had again deteriorated to 50 meters. Visibility in the city, however, was normal. At 8:30 AM, flight restrictions were lifted at Tashkent Airport.
Uzhydromet reported that there were fogs in Tashkent, Jizzakh, Bukhara, Navoi, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, and Syrdarya provinces and the Fergana Valley this evening. Visibility in Bukhara, Karshi, Termez, Tashkent, Namangan, and Andijan was 50-100 meters.
