President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi launched the Five Million Uzbek AI Prompters project as part of the International Artificial Intelligence Forum in Tashkent on Friday.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev called the project a logical continuation of the One Million Coders program. "This is not just a program—it represents new horizons of opportunity for our youth," he said.

4.75 million schoolchildren and students, 150,000 teachers, and 100,000 civil servants will be trained as part of the project by 2030. Artificial intelligence will be integrated into school, vocational, and higher education.

"I am confident that the Five Million AI Prompters program will become an economic driver and provide a powerful impetus to the rapid development of our country," the president noted.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed declaring November annually as AI Month for youth and holding the "Silk Road AI Forum within its framework.

Speaking at the forum, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that artificial intelligence was becoming not a super tool, but a fundamental factor, deeply permeating all spheres of the economy, public administration, and everyday life.

"It would not be an exaggeration to say that the great scientists who brought glory to our civilization during the First and Second Renaissance—Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, Abu Rayhon Beruni, and Mirzo Ulugh Beg—made a tremendous contribution to the development of algorithms, mathematics, and logic, thereby laying the foundations for today's progress in artificial intelligence," he noted.

He emphasized that, "as heirs to this invaluable scientific legacy, we must be open to new technologies and transform them into a powerful pillar for the country's further development."

In October 2024, Uzbekistan adopted the AI Technologies Development National Strategy 2030.

The "One Million Coders program, launched in 2019, similar to the One Million Arab Coders program in the UAE, has reportedly trained over 2 million young people.

The president called on international organizations and major global companies participating in the forum to foster cooperation in the field of AI in Uzbekistan.

According to foreign experts, AI technologies could create at least $10 billion in additional value for the Uzbek economy over the next five years.

By 2030, the country aims to increase IT services exports to $5 billion and create thousands of high-income jobs for young professionals.

To implement the AI ecosystem, a large supercomputer cluster will be launched in Uzbekistan next year in partnership with the American company Nvidia.

"Our strategic goal is to transform Uzbekistan not only into a consumer of modern technologies, but also into a country that creates them, exports them, and successfully competes in the global market," the president noted. "To promote domestic developments globally, we will open a National Technology Transfer Office in Silicon Valley, providing direct connections between our young professionals and startup founders and leading companies, investors, and accelerators."

AI skills will be taught not only in schools but also at Kelajak (Future) centers in all provinces.

An annual best AI startup contest will be held among schools. The winning schools in each of the 14 provinces will get AI labs and establish partnerships with companies to commercialize their developments.

Furthermore, a Presidential AI Contest will be established. Each year, 100 promising trainees will be selected for internships at technology companies in the US, UAE, and Europe. In the second stage, a similar system will be implemented for universities.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that $100 million will be allocated for the implementation of the above-mentioned goals.
