Man was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife, father-in-law, and mother-in-law, all of whom he intentionally hit with a truck in Navoi province, the Millar program on the Milliy TV channel's said in a story.
The 41-year-old man worked as a driver for a farm in Tamdy district. He delivered water for animals in his assigned HOWO H5X truck.
According to case materials, the man married in 2008 and had three children. The couple initially lived in Zarafshan, then moved to a summer house in the village of Shark in the Tamdy district, which belonged to his wife. However, due to constant conflicts, they divorced in 2021.
By a ruling of the Zarafshan Interdistrict Civil Court on December 20, 2024, the man was ordered to leave his home. Officers from the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement arrived on the scene on March 17 to enforce this ruling. The ex-wife, her parents, and the enforcers were there.
According to a witness from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), as he was about to formalize the postponement of the eviction, a large white truck approached from the city.
"At that moment, a large white truck began approaching from the city. When we were about 15-20 meters away, the truck stopped. The driver then drove the car straight at the ex-wife, pinning her against the wall. Then he turned the wheel toward the ex-mother-in-law, hitting her with the front of the car, and drove over her. I ran away," the BPI employee said.
The driver then drove the truck at the father-in-law, who approached his daughter with a crutch, knocking them both down. He then got out of the car with a knife and stabbed the ex-wife twice.
"He said, 'I'll kill you too,' and threw the knife into a ravine," the employee added.
As a result, the woman and her parents died from their injuries.
According to investigators, the crime was motivated by a housing dispute.
The defendant himself stated that he hadn't planned the murder:
"It happened when I wasn't myself. I didn't plan anything... My children all know how much I love them. No father can live without his children."
The deceased's two minor daughters testified in court that their father, while intoxicated, often started arguments, beat their mother, and threatened to kill her. After their parents' official divorce in 2021, their father continued to visit their mother regularly, was jealous, and caused scandals. After repeated conflicts, the woman installed a video surveillance system in the house and a "special remote control" to call the National Guard. Every time their father came home to argue, the guards would arrive and take him away.
During these incidents, the man repeatedly told his daughters, "You'll be orphans" and "I'll send your mother to the grave."
The girls asked for him to be given a life sentence.
The Tamdy District Criminal Court found the man guilty of committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 219 (resistance to a government official or a person performing their civic duty) and paragraphs a, c, d, and g of Part 2 of Article 97 (premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances, i.e., murder of two or more persons, of a person whom the perpetrator knew to be in a helpless state, in a manner dangerous to the lives of others, with particular cruelty) of the Criminal Code.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment to be served in a special regime penal colony.
The sentence was appealed, but the Navoi Province Court's criminal division upheld it on October 28. The convict claimed that he had no conflicts with his family and was not sane at that moment, but the appellate court rejected these arguments.
