Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov in an interview to the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel discussed plans to expand cooperation with several major US oil and gas companies.

According to him, alongside major investors, Uzbekistan's technology partners also participated in the events in the United States.

The minister underscored that several industrial and energy projects were planned with Honeywell, a global leader in automation.

He stated that a joint seminar was planned to fulfill the directives of the Uzbek President to actively implement AI in technological processes.

The minister stated that Schlumberger, a global leader in oilfield service technologies, was among the top partners.

"We also plan to actively develop cooperation with the leading company Schlumberger in drilling and the implementation of modern drilling methods and technologies, primarily in the Ustyurt area," he said.

Uzbekistan is also negotiating with Caterpillar, specifically its Solar Turbines division, which produces gas compressor units, engines, and cogeneration units.

Furthermore, the electrification of the gas transmission system is being discussed with Siemens Energy, which manufactures electric motors in the United States.

"We are exploring the possibility of electrifying the gas transmission system and replacing natural gas-powered engines with electric ones with Siemens Energy, which manufactures electric motors in the United States," concluded Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov.

Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at a meeting with American businesses on November 6, identified four priority areas of cooperation with the United States: energy, strategic raw materials, logistics, and IT. He stated that developing renewable energy in the country will reduce energy costs by 15%, making it one of the cheapest in the region.

Uzbekistan also plans to purchase small modular reactors from the United States, while the American company Air Products intends to invest up to $3 billion in the construction of a methanol plant in Uzbekistan.
