As part of his visit to Washington, D.C., President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Senior VP/Global Chief Procurement & Supply Chain Officer at the General Motors Shilpan Amin.
The parties discussed the ways to further expand the long-term bilateral cooperation, and stressed the important role and significance of General Motors International in the development and diversification of Uzbekistan’s automotive industry.
Over the past five years, the company has manufactured 1.6 million vehicles, and Uzbekistan has become the second largest market for the Chevrolet models after the USA and a leader in sales in the markets of Central Asia and the CIS.
The parties focused on the ways to further develop cooperation, to expand of the range of models, and localization and also discussed the perspectives for the implementation of joint projects in the field of new technologies and raw materials in demand in modern mechanical engineering.
