President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Qatar on November 3-4 to attend the second edition of the World Summit for Social Development in Doha, the presidential press service said.
The event, held on the basis of the UN General Assembly resolutions of 2024, will address the ways to lift the gaps in socio-economic development, commitment to the goals and principles of the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development (adopted at the first World Summit for Social Development in March 1995), and to expedite the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The attendees are also expected to focus on reinforcing international cooperation, improving national strategies, and implementing comprehensive steps aimed at increasing the sustainability, social justice, and inclusiveness of societies, the statement said.
The main goal of the Summit is to reportedly push global efforts to eradicate poverty, promote full and productive employment, ensure decent working conditions, and expand social inclusion in the context of modern challenges and interdependence.
The Summit will culminate in the signing of Doha Declaration aimed at strengthening international partnerships and developing coordinated approaches to achieving the goals of sustainable and inclusive social progress.
