President Alexander Stubb of Finland visited the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) Thursday. The main topic of the working meeting between the Finnish President and the UWED’s leadership was the discussion of the prospects for the development of cooperation between UWED and Finnish universities.
The parties considered specific ways to implement joint programs, in particular, academic exchanges of students and teachers, exchange of experience, implementation of research projects.
As a result, agreements were reached on expanding educational and scientific ties between the two countries, priority areas for further implementation of partnership initiatives were identified.
As part of his visit to the university, Alexander Stubb met with students and teachers of UWED and delivered a lecture on the topic: “The changing balance of power: Values, interests and power in foreign policy”.
In his speech, Alexander Stubb shared his views on the transformation of the global political architecture, the role of national interests and universal values, as well as the importance of the active position of young people in shaping the international agenda.
The lecture was followed by a lively Q&A session, during which students could interact in person with a Head of State and discuss current topics such as the role of AI in politics and the future of the European Union.
