Another phase of reconstruction has been completed at Tashkent International Airport: a renovated arrivals hall, an open terrace, and a new VIP lounge in the departures terminal, have been completed. Several food and beverage outlets are due to open in the area in the near future, including cafes, soft drink bars, ice cream and flower shops. Previously, the arrivals hall had been almost completely closed to visitors.

“If an arriving passenger was an elderly person or a young child, as an exception, one person had been allowed to meet them, provided they presented all their IDs. In their place, taking into account that our previous greeters were left outside, exposed to various types of precipitation, now they have the opportunity to be greeted comfortably inside the hall, warm on cold days, and cool on hot days,” said the Director of Tashkent International Airport Jasur Pulatov.

The front side of the arrivals hall has been expanded by 2,200 sqm, with a new parking lot erected in this area, which can now accommodate 347 cars. While, the area of the greeters' area, which had 200 seats, has now been expanded to almost 5,000 square meters.

Furthermore, a terrace with a picturesque view has been set up on the 2nd floor of the airport. Now, departing passengers and their close ones can have a great time there. For information, now the arrivals building of Tashkent Airport serves 20-22 thousand passengers per day. After completion of construction, the total area of the terminal will surpass 16,000 sqm, and its throughput capacity will reach 2,400 passengers per hour. As part of the renovation work, the VIP departure hall was also expanded, with 300 square meters added to the existing 1,100 square meter hall.
