The Russian president Vladimir Putin awarded the Friendship Order to the Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Nigmatilla Yuldashev. He signed a decree to this effect on Wednesday.
The award recognizes Nigmatilla Yuldashev's contribution "to strengthening the rule of law, law and order, protecting citizens' rights in the CIS, developing inter-prosecutor cooperation, and building a strategic partnership with the Russian side."
Nigmatilla Yuldashev has served as Prosecutor General since 2019. Prior to that, he had been speaker of the Senate Majlis. In June 2024, he was reappointed Prosecutor General.
The Russian Friendship Order was also awarded to the Secretary of the Security Council of Tajikistan Yusuf Rahmon.
The Friendship Order was established in 1994. The award is presented to Russian citizens and aliens for their contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation among nations and peoples.
Previously, the singers Farrukh Zakirov and Sevara Nazarkhan were awarded the order.
