The first consular consultations between the consular services of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Austria took place in Vienna Monday.
According to the Foreign Ministry, during the negotiations, the parties discussed the bilateral ties and agreed to:
- continue negotiations on a draft migration and mobility cooperation treaty, thereby further developing mutual cooperation in this area;
- draft an intergovernmental treaty on issuing visas to holders of diplomatic passports;
- consider recognizing apostilles issued by the relevant authorities of Uzbekistan;
- review the possibility of issuing visas to citizens of Uzbekistan through the Austrian diplomatic mission in Astana.
The parties underscored that these consultations would serve to further strengthen consular and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
