The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow on Monday.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his birthday, wishing him good health and happiness, and peace, tranquility and prosperity to the fraternal Turkmen people.
The two counterparts reviewed the ways to further develop and strengthen the friendly, good-neighborly and strategic partnership ties between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
They commended the establishment of active bilateral dialogue and effective interdepartmental contacts and focused on increasing the bilateral trade figures, promoting industry and energy projects.
The Shavot-Tashovuz trade zone project is being completed, with the Forum of Provinces, an exhibition, and Days of Turkmen Culture and Cinema scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan.
They also reviewed the topical issues of the regional agenda and the plan of upcoming high-level events.
At the end of the meeting, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedow and people of Turkmenistan on the upcoming Independence Day.
