In an interview to the Dunyo state-owned news agency, the Swiss Ambassador Konstantin Obolensky expressed his thoughts on the significance of the 3rd edition of Road to Prosperity International Forum in Namangan.

According to him, the announced results of the relevant government program made a great impression on him. Information on how many people have been lifted out of poverty, economic and social assistance to the poor, and conditions provided for a decent life were also very important.

"Switzerland is also actively contributing to this process. We are returning proceeds from criminal activities to Uzbekistan, and these funds are being spent on implementing social projects that directly contribute to poverty reduction. For example, today a document will be signed in Uzbekistan on a project to modernize more than 45 schools. This is related to improving sanitary and hygienic conditions - toilets, bathrooms, and increasing the energy efficiency of buildings. All this is being done for the benefit of the people, for the future of the country," the ambassador added.

The decision to return the funds to the people of Uzbekistan and use them for the benefit of society is the result of the joint will of the governments of Switzerland and Uzbekistan.

"The results achieved in reducing poverty in the country are remarkable, and this delighted not only me, but also all the participants of the forum. We are committed to ensuring that every person in Uzbekistan has the opportunity to realize their potential, and economic and social opportunities and live a decent life," Konstantin Obolensky concluded.
