A delegation of more than 30 leading architects from 15 countries will visit Uzbekistan for the first time to participate in the SHARE Uzbekistan International Architecture and Urban Development Forum on 22-23 September 2025.
The delegation includes architects from renowned international studios, including Bjarke Ingels Group from Denmark, Zaha Hadid Architects from the United Kingdom, XTU Architects from France, and MAD Architects from China, among others.
The forum is organized by SHARE Architects, an international platform that has been connecting architects and contractors across Central and Eastern Europe and the Caucasus for nearly 30 years. The Tashkent event marks the organization’s first activity in Central Asia.
With Uzbekistan undergoing a period of rapid urban transformation, including ambitious projects that target smart and sustainable growth, the country is generating significant attention among international architecture studios, contractors, and engineering firms. The inaugural edition of the SHARE Forum in Tashkent will enable Uzbek architects, contractors, and developers to gain access to connect with international counterparts and share expertise and cutting-edge ideas.
The forum will also provide international architects a chance to see the dynamic transformations underway in Uzbekistan first-hand and to explore opportunities to contribute to the development of Uzbekistan’s cities. The SHARE Forum is being held with the support of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Deputy Minister Davronzhon Adilov hailed the SHARE Forum as a “unique platform” that can drive the “professional growth and development of the Uzbek architectural school.”
“We are convinced that the synergy of international and local experience will serve as the foundation for the creation of unique, modern and at the same time harmoniously integrated into our culture architectural solutions,” he added.
Dilnoza Ahmad, founder of architecture studio Perfect Design Arh and the SHARE Ambassador for Uzbekistan, believes that the upcoming forum “represents a strategic opportunity to position Uzbek architecture within an international context” while fostering “regional and global collaboration.”
The forum’s program will feature two days of presentations and dynamic discussions. On Day 1, the focus will be on the role of urbanism and public buildings in the transformation of cities, including contributions from Saidazim Sharipov, Chief Architect of the “New Tashkent” project and Kai-Uwe Bergmann, a partner at Bjarke Ingels Group whose ideas in sustainable and visual urban planning have earned international acclaim.
The day will also include a discussion on the design of human-centered cities with insights from Balazs Csapo of Pargram Studio, Askhat Sudov of AlmatyGenPlan Research Institute, and Peter Murray, the co-founder of New London Architecture.
On Day 2, architects Bobir Klichev of celebrated Uzbek studio ARC, Diana Morari-Korotky of Architype, and Dean Lah of Enota Studio will share their expertise on the concept of “living architecture,” in which restorative and interactive built environments support the well-being of people.
Other sessions include presentations on adaptive architecture and façade innovations by, with contributions from Simone Sfriso of TAM Associati and Bobir Klichev of leading Uzbek studio ARC. The agenda will also include discussions on executing large-scale urban development and architecture projects with insights from Temur Akhmedov of the Green Building Council of Uzbekistan, Rainer Schmidt of Rainer Schmidt Landschaftsarchitekten, John Bushell of Kohn Pedersen Fox, and Paolo Mateuzzi of Zaha Hadid Architects.
“We are truly inspired to launch the SHARE Forum in Uzbekistan––a crossroads of cultures, histories, and ambitions. I am confident that the participation of world-renowned architectural practices combined with a deep understanding of local identity will create projects where modernity and tradition work together for a sustainable future,” said Florin Mindirigiu, founder of SHARE Architects.
The forum will conclude with an evening tour of Tashkent’s architectural landmarks and a meet-the-speakers event, offering a unique opportunity to combine global expertise with local initiatives for the future development of Tashkent and the region.
The Forum is held with the support of the Official Partner Manar Development, as well as National Partners Grohe (sanitary solutions) and Walter Engineering in Aluminum, Partners Thorn and Zumtobel (lighting system technologies), and Architecture by Dilnoza Ahmad, together with the Institutional Partners the Union of Architects of Uzbekistan and Green Building Council of Uzbekistan, and Me’mor magazine.
