The nationals of Uzbekistan and Jordan will be able to travel to both countries without visas for 30 days from September 25, the spokesman to the Foreign Ministry of Affairs, Akhror Burkhanov said.
Earlier on August 26, following the in Samarkand the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the King of Jordan, Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein oversaw the signing of a number of bilateral accords, including an agreement to abolish visa requirements for the nationals of the two countries.
The Foreign Ministry clarified that the agreement would take effect 30 days after signing, from September 25.
Previously, the Uzbeks could obtain a visa to Jordan upon arrival. Now the kingdom has become the 35th country where Uzbeks will be able to enter without a visa.
According to the National Statistics Committee, in 2022, 89 citizens of Uzbekistan visited Jordan for tourism purposes, and 165 in 2023, and in 2024 there were no travels for this purpose.
In 2022, 552 Jordanians visited Uzbekistan as tourists, and 1,192 - in 2023.
