Uzbek civil servants will be able to get training abroad under a scholarship program of Japanese government, the Japanese Embassy in Tashkent said.
The exchange notes and grant agreement for this project were signed by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov, the Ambassador of Japan Takashi Hatori and the head of the JICA representative office in Uzbekistan Yoshibumi Bito Tuesday.
The project value is 422 million yen (about $2.8 million). It is being implemented as part of the grant aid program of the Government of Japan.
As part of the project, in 2026, up to 18 young civil servants of Uzbekistan will be able to study for a two-year master's degree at universities in Japan, and one candidate of sciences will undergo a three-year doctorate.
The implementation of the project will allow the personnel responsible for the future of Uzbekistan to get the professional knowledge necessary for the development of the country and contribute to the development of national policies.
