Criminal case has been opened against workers of the Migration Agency who were involved in sending people to work in Korea for money, the State Security Service said.

Reportedly, the chief specialist of the Namangan province branch of the Migration Agency, who took advantage of his official position, received $41,000 in exchange for sending them to work in South Korea, was detained with evidence.

The assigned pre-investigation check found that he had been carrying out this illegal activity together with the chief specialist of the central office of the Migration Agency, who was also detained in the act while receiving $15,000 of the said cash.

The investigation found that these employees had received more than $700,000 in funds to send more than 80 men to Korea Republic in 2024.

The Investigation Department of the State Security Service has opened a criminal case under Articles 168 and 211 of the Criminal Code, and measures are being taken to identify the remaining members of the criminal group.
