The Russian stand-up comedy TV show - Comedy Club has been banned in Uzbekistan, the promoter company said today.
Reportedly, the ban was due to "non-compliance with etiquette standards." While the stand-up comedian Alexey Shcherbakov was also asked to cut out some jokes from his performance.
The Ministry of Culture sent the promoters the ban letter and recommendations for the performances of other visiting performers.
The ban was found to have been imposed back in 2023 when the show "Musical Comedy Club" was planned in Tashkent. It was postponed for technical reasons, but a new date has not yet been set.
Local promoters complain that they are losing up to 90 percent of their income due to such bans.
The Russian Comedy Club is renowned for dirty jokes instead of opting for quality humor.
