Today, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the special event dedicated to the preparation and holding of the Seventh Central Asia Summit in Tashkent.

The event was attended by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, as well as members of official delegations and representatives of the public.

In line with the agenda, the parties reviewed the main aspects of preparation for the next Central Asia Summit in Tashkent.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev reported on the joint work carried out within the framework of Uzbekistan's chairmanship in this format. In particular, the Concept of the Chairmanship and the Schedule of Joint Events were adopted at the beginning of the year.

The preparations included meetings of secretaries of security councils, heads of special services, ministers of industry, energy, water management and ecology, media and youth forums.

An interparliamentary forum, meetings of ministers of defense, trade and transport, as well as cultural and humanitarian events are scheduled for the end of the year.

Conceptual documents for the meeting are being prepared to form a new agenda for regional partnership and strengthen its legal framework.

President Mirziyoyev put forward a number of initiatives to deepen the political dialogue, launch new drivers of economic cooperation, and increase cross-border trade. The focus will be on cooperation in the water and energy sectors, expanding transport connectivity, as well as in the field of climate change.

The parties commended the participation of the Azerbaijani PM in the meetings. Today, the cooperation between the countries of the region with Azerbaijan is expanding, with trade, transport, and green energy projects launched.

In conclusion, the President of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that coordinated and agreed approaches of the Central Asian countries would help achieve common goals of regional development and prosperity.
