Lane for cars has been set up in front of the Central Rail Station of Tashkent. According to the press service of Uzbekistan Railways, stopping for up to 5 minutes is free of charge.
There is a fee for a 5 to 10-minute stop. Stopping for over 10 minutes is a traffic violation.
A sign has been installed here that allows stopping, but prohibits parking. The company reported that fines will be issued automatically by recording cameras. At the moment, the installation of barriers and cameras that read car numbers is being completed.
Previously, there was a terminus station for public transport in front of the Northern Station. Now it is located on the side. The lack of a legal opportunity to drop off passengers in front of the station led to the fact that drivers had to violate traffic rules.
On May 27, at a government meeting chaired by the President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave a directive to create conveniences for passengers.
In mid-June, all rail stations in Uzbekistan had been cleared of the fences that had surrounded them for many years. Now, all stations will gradually have access roads organized. As reported by the railway authorities, a special road map has been developed to this end.
