Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the subway extension project in Tashkent, the press service of the head of state said today.
During a visit to the High Town City complex in the Yunusabad district, the president was presented with public transport development projects, including the expansion of the subway network.
It was previously planned to extend the Tashkent subway to the Tashkent Tractor Plant. Reportedly, the head of state instructed to review the previously conceived projects and propose alternative options.
In accordance with the prepared new project, 10 stations will be built from the Buyuk Ipak Yo'li station to the Tashkent Tractor Plant. This route will cover 30 neighbourhoods and provide transport links for 148 thousand residents, the presidential press service said.
The Ministry of Transport clarified that the line will start from the Pushkin metro station (one station earlier).
The presidential press service also updated the statement, saying that the new line will be built from the Pushkin station or the Buyuk Ipak Yo'li station.
