An Uzbek national, Umid Kaimov, 40 attacked another man with a knife at the Krasnoyarsk airport in Russia, Baza said on Tuesday.

Reportedly, on January 13, he attacked a man with a knife for no reason on the first floor of the airport. He was stopped by witnesses to the incident and was handed over to the police.

According to the Russia’s Eastern Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of Investigative Committee, a criminal case has been opened against the Uzbek citizen. He is now facing Attempted murder charge.

The man arrived at the airport unarmed. Then he climbed onto the bar counter, took a knife and a bottle of cognac and threw it at the man.

He allegedly injured 39-year-old Mansurbek T., who was provided with medical assistance at the scene, and then hospitalized.

When questioned by law enforcement officers, Kaimov told he committed the attack out of jealousy.

Video footage of the interrogation shows the handcuffed man who does not speak Russian, explaining that he planned to fly home, but was drunk. The interpreter said that the detained person had consumed vodka.
