One of the marking distinctions of this year was that historically underrepresented in AI strategy work lower-middle-income economies such as Ghana, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, and Zambia have formalised their AI visions this year, having had them in development in 2023, signalling a commitment to build the foundational governance frameworks necessary to improve AI readiness.
Uzbekistan ranked third in the South and Central Asia region, after India and Turkiye, whilst becoming the top country in Index among CA countries.
