Officers of the Cybersecurity Service of the Bukhara province police department detained a 17-year-old teenager in Zhondor district as part of a criminal case on crypto assets circulation offence, the Millar program on Sevimli channel reported.
Reportedly, a resident of the Zarafshan neighbourhood earned 34 billion soums ($2.64 million) worth of crypto assets for "without obtaining the appropriate license."
The spokesman to the police department, Shukhrat Zhalilov reported that a criminal case was opened under the Violation of the legislation in the sphere of crypto assets circulation on an especially large scale of the Criminal Code, punishable with from 3 to 5-year imprisonment. At the same time, a person who voluntarily reported a crime being prepared or committed and actively contributed to its disclosure shall be relieved from liability.
Illegal circulation of crypto assets and illegal mining has been criminalized since on April 19 this year. For the first time, administrative measures shall be provided - arrest for up to 15 days or fines up to 100 basic calculation units. For repeated similar actions, one can get up to 5 years of imprisonment.
