On sidelines of the COP29 Summit in Baku, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb on Tuesday.

The counterparts reviewed the ways to advance the Uzbek-Finnish ties and commended the current bilateral active political and interparliamentary contacts.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to prepare a program for the development of industrial cooperation in metallurgy, electrical engineering, chemistry, telecommunications and other sectors to form a new economic agenda.

In this regard, the parties emphasized the importance of thorough preparation for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and Business Forum which will take place in Helsinki in January 2025.

The two leaders focused on the prospects for strengthening exchanges in the field of education and ecology, including Finland's active participation in the activities of the UN Trust Fund for the Aral Sea.
