As part of Uzcard Forum 2024, the executive director of Uzbekistan's "United Republic Processing Center" (Uzcard) Olimjon Zakirov and the chairman of Kyrgyz "Interbank Processing Center" (Elcard) Kanikey Jamangulova signed a memorandum of cooperation.

Thus, the leaders of national payment systems have confirmed their readiness to launch a major joint project that allows mutual acceptance of payments on the territory of two countries: in Uzbekistan through ElCard cards and in Kyrgyzstan through UzCard cards.

The memorandum is aimed at creating cross-system integration by simplifying cross-border transactions for cardholders of the two countries, introducing modern technologies in cross-border payments, promoting new digital solutions, as well as increasing the financial literacy of citizens of the two countries.

Reportedly, the integration of national payment systems not only opens up new opportunities for the financial infrastructure of the two countries, but also gives a new impetus to the development of mutual trade, tourism and economic cooperation in many other sectors of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
