Official inauguration ceremony of Termiz International Trade Center took place today in Termiz city. According to the press service of the Government of Uzbekistan, the Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, Acting Prime Minister of Afghan caretaker government, Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shakhin Mustafaev, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan Nazarbek Malaev, Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebaev and others were present at the event.

Reportedly, the Trade Center was set up with an aim to facilitate doing business and logistics, and simplify administrative procedures.

"The Uzbek and Afgan officials voiced confidence that this Center would become an important platform for expanding trade relations and implementing joint projects in our region. The center discussed the conditions created for Afghan nationals to trade, use education, medicine and other social services," the official release said.

After the symbolic ribbon was cut and the Center was officially opened, representatives of the diplomatic corps got acquainted with the Termiz International Trade Center.

Also, PM Aripov also held bilateral talks with the Acting Prime Minister, Abdul Ghani Baradar and Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shakhin Mustafaev.

On August 17 of this year, the delegation of the Uzbek government led by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov held talks with the Taliban officials in Kabul.

During the talks, the parties noted that there were all possibilities to increase the two-way trade between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan to US$ 1 billion this year, and to US$ 3 billion in the near future.
