On June 3, the president signed the Measures to further expedite market reforms and harmonize national legislation with World Trade Organization (WTO) agreements Decree allowing Internet providers in Uzbekistan to get direct access to the international Internet channel from January 1, 2025.
As an experiment, providers will be able to directly connect to international Internet networks for their commercial needs subject to full compliance with the requirements of investigation, information and cyber security systems.
The Ministry of Digital Technologies has been instructed to submit by October 1 to the government for approval the procedure for directly connecting providers to the international Internet channel, as well as the gradual provision of services to other operators for the creation of international Internet channels, providing for full provision of information and national security.
