A two-story house collapsed in the Pastdargom district of the Samarkand province due to excavation for a building an adjoining non-residential building.
The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Utility Services said, commenting on the footage that circulated on social networks.
Reportedly, the incident occurred on Samarkand street. The district mayor’s office reported that there were no casualties.
The press service of the General Prosecutor's Office reports that a criminal case had been launched into the incident under Deliberate destruction or damage to property causing large damage.
On May 15, the owner of the collapsed house, Khasan Murodullaev, filed a complaint saying that his neighbor Tokhirzhon Begmatov was digging a pit to build a store, despite repeated demands to stop work due to fears of the house collapsing.
His demands were ignored, and on May 14 at about 19:45 the building collapsed. The owner estimated the damage caused to him at 300 thousand US dollars.
