On April 29, at approximately 17:00, the driver in a GM Cobalt hit a 15-year-old girl who was crossing the road on Uzbekistan street in Samarkand, the press service of the Road traffic safety department of the Samarkand province said.
The teen was hospitalized with injuries, with no details given what injuries the girl sustained.
The footage (18+) from the scene of the incident shows several schoolchildren on the street; there is a “Children” sign along the roadway, but there is no pedestrian crossing or traffic light. The girl looks around, crosses the road, and was hit by a Cobalt at high speed.
Pre-investigation is ongoing into the incident.
