The countries of Central Asia are experiencing pressure from external forces. This was stated by Secretary of the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov at the XII international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues.
“Uzbekistan views the Central Asian region as a top priority of its foreign policy course and is exerting major efforts to maintain it as a region of peace, security and trust,” he said. “Today, unfortunately, the countries of the region are experiencing pressure from external forces, which are trying to force the Central Asia to make a choice without taking into account their national interests."
The XII international meeting of highest security aides is currently taking place in St. Petersburg at Expoforum.
