The Uzpaynet company, which manages the Paynet payment service, has changed its equity owner. According to the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations (USREO), 100% stake on the balance sheet of the State Asset Management Agency (SAMA) were transferred to New Industrial Technologies. SAMA did not officially announce the sale of the stake, although information about a change of owner appeared in November.
New Industrial Technologies LLC was registered in April 2019 and has an authorized capital of 273.56 billion soums. The 60% of the company belongs to a foreign national Alex Lee (in June he was the only founder), 40% - to Mustafa Abdurakhmanov, who also owns 77.6% of the Asia Alliance Group - the majority shareholder in Asia Alliance Bank.
Paynet service was created by Botir Arifjanov in 2005. Later, he sold the company to the state represented by People's Bank and left its management.
The platform accepts payments from more than 390 service providers, including housing and utility services, Internet and mobile communications. In 2022, Paynet was used by more than 1.3 million people per day.
