Heavy rains are expected in nine provinces of Uzbekistan on April 25-28, Uzпшdromet warned. In this regard, mudslides and floods are possible in foothill and mountainous areas:

  • in Tashkent province: Akhangaran, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchik and Yukorichirchik districts and the cities of Angren and Almalyk;
  • in the Kashkadarya province: Yakkabag, Dekhkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shakhrisabz, Kamashi and Guzar districts;
  • in Surkhandarya province: Saryasi, Uzun, Altynsay, Denau, Baysun, Sherabad, Shurchin, Kumkurgan and Muzrabad districts;
  • in Samarkand province: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurabad, Koshrabat, Kattakurgan, Payaryk, Jambay and Ishtykhan districts;
  • in Navoi province: Khatyrchinsky, Navbakhorsky, Nurata, Kanimekhsky and Karmaninsky districts;
  • in Jizzakh province: Zaamin, Bakhmal, Gallyaaral, Sharaf-Rashidov, Farish and Yangiabad districts;
  • in Namangan province: Papal, Kasansay, Chartak, Chust, Namangan and Yangikurgan districts;
  • in Fergana province: Sokh, Fergana and Besharyk districts;
  • in Andijan province: Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izbaskan, Khojaabad and Markhamat districts and the city of Khanabad.

Accumulation of rainwater can lead to flooding of areas.

Those living in foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers and drivers are requested to take precautions.
