Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov today met with the president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk.
"Our cooperation based on friendship and mutual respect is rapidly developing in all areas. The ministries of foreign affairs of Uzbekistan and Belarus will use all their capabilities to implement the agreements reached at the highest level," Bakhtiyor Saidov said on his Telegram channel.
Alexander Lukashenko called on Uzbekistan to develop cooperation more actively. The parties aim to increase the two-way trade to one billion US dollars.
"I hope that Uzbekistan will exert every effort to achieve this goal. I ask you to focus on setting up of joint ventures that we have agreed upon. We have something to offer to Uzbekistan," said Lukashenko.
Bakhtiyar Saidov also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergey Aleynik.
"Our talks in Minsk provided a good opportunity for a detailed review of the implementation of the agreements reached between our leaders, as well as an exchange of views on all areas of relations between the two countries. We are pleased to note that our relations are showing positive momentum in many areas. We agreed to strengthen communication between businesses of the two countries, to significantly expand economic ties. We also signed the program of consultations between our ministries for 2024-2025," Bakhtiyor Saidov concluded.
