One-stage control point has been launched at Tashkent’s central (Northern) rail station, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan said. This means that document checks and baggage inspections are now carried out in one place, and not in several, as before.

Previously, one-stage control points were introduced at the Tashkent-Yuzhny railway stations, as well as Samarkand and Namangan.

Gradually, such control points will operate at all train stations in Uzbekistan, the report says.

In April 2021, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree simplifying access to airports, as well as railway and bus stations.

The document will combine the main checkpoints of airports and train stations with primary checkpoints at the entrance, allow free entry into the buildings of airports and train stations subject to security requirements, and to set up catering, services and trade points at airports and train stations and adjacent areas.

In previous years, access to train stations and airports was gradually tightened. Passengers had to go through several stages of control, and those seeing off and greeting people were not allowed into the buildings of stations and airports.
