The Embassy of Ukraine in Tashkent published an appeal to the citizens of Uzbekistan with a call not to participate in the Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and not to go the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

The appeal says that "due to significant losses of personnel Russia is making attempts to recruit foreign nationals in the war against Ukraine.

“According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the presence of Uzbeks in the units of the Russian occupation forces located in the temporarily occupied city of Gorlovka, Donetsk region, was revealed,” the embassy said.

Reported. that the Uzbeks illegally crossed the border of Ukraine and arrived to carry out construction work. After arriving in Mariupol, their passports were confiscated, and they were mobilized as volunteers.

The embassy drew the attention of citizens of Uzbekistan to the inadmissibility of Russia's participation in the war against Ukraine: "Foreign citizens participating in armed aggression against Ukraine will be prosecuted and held accountable in accordance with the provisions of the legislation of Ukraine and international law."

The embassy also emphasized "the inadmissibility of illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine to participate in any activity in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine."

“Foreign citizens who illegally arrived in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including to participate in construction or other work, will be considered as accomplices of the occupiers and held accountable in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine,” the diplomatic mission said.
