On July 19, on the sidelines of the first Summit of the Central Asia- Gulf Cooperation Council, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Crown Prince, Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and reviewed the current agenda for further advancing the Uzbek-Saudi ties.

The Crown Prince cordially congratulated the head of our state on his convincing victory in the presidential elections, wishing peace, well-being and prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan.

While, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for the conditions created for Uzbeks to perform Hajj and Umrah.

They commended the intensification of mutual contacts and exchanges and underscored the importance of the unconditional implementation of the agreements adopted during the bilateral summit in August last year.

Year-to-date, the volume of the two-way trade has grown by 20 percent, the number of joint ventures has doubled. The implementation of important green projects with the participation of Saudi Acwa Power has begun. Large investment projects are being drafted in the field of "green hydrogen", petrochemicals, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, medicine, tourism and other industries.
