President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, by decree dated June 14, removing the Sidjak and Chatkal recreation areas from the privatization list of state-owned assets. Now Sidjak is on the balance sheet of the 124th boarding school, it is forbidden to sell and change its type of activity, Chatkal became the property of the Federation of Trade Unions.
Sidjak, located on 5.4 hectares, was put up for auction in April 2021, April and October 2022, but was never sold. On its territory there is a sports facility, a hotel, three swimming pools, an amphitheater, a cottage and other buildings. The object was estimated at 70 billion soums, US$ 6.5 miln.
Previously, it belonged to Gulnara Karimova the daughter of the late president Karimov, and was confiscated by the state by a court ruling. The facility was planned to be transferred to the Uzbekistan Football Association for national teams, as indicated in the decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated March 16, 2018.
In December 2019, by a presidential decree, this clause of the document became invalid, and a training center for national teams was ordered to be created at Yangibazar village, Yukorichirchik district, Tashkent region.
In July 2019, it became known that there were plans to transfer Sidjak to the gratuitous use of the Triathlon Federation. But in the end, in June 2020, it was decided to privatize it.
There were 3 attempts to sell the Chatkal recreation area, which was supposed to be privatized in the summer of 2021. The lot was put up for auction at a price tag of 12.2 billion soums.
