The share of urban population in Uzbekistan is increasing. In the beginning of 2022, this figure stood at 50.9 % rising by 10.6% compared to 1991 when the share of urban population in the permanent population of Uzbekistan was 40.3 %.
The %age of permanent residents living in urban areas by year:
— 1991 – 40.3 %;
— 2000 – 37.4 %;
— 2010 – 51.5 %;
— 2020 – 50.6 %;
— 2022 - 50.9 %.
