Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva in Samarkand city.
The parties discussed the ways to further develop multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the IMF, including in such priority areas as reforms to ensure macroeconomic stability, improve monetary and fiscal policies.
They commended the fact that in recent years, the cooperation with the IMF had been noticeably stepped up. In recent years, more than 70 missions of the Fund have visited Uzbekistan, and expert and technical assistance has been expanding.
Kristalina Georgieva, expressed her full support and readiness to facilitate the program of irreversible reforms in Uzbekistan.
They also exchange views on topical issues of the global economy and sustainable development.
