The Senate at the 41st plenary meeting, which will be convened on June 1, will review the Conflict of Interest Bill, the press service of the Senate said.
The Legislative Chamber passed the Bill on October 25, 2022. Akmal Burkhanov, the head of the Anti-Corruption Agency, said that the Agnecy had been finding thousands of cases of conflicts of interest in the public service, but due to the lack of legal framework, it is problematic to eliminate such situations.
In June 2020, by presidential decree, the Anti-Corruption Agency, together with other state bodies, was also instructed to develop a Declaring income, property and conflict of interest of civil servants Bill within three months. This system was supposed to be effective from January 1, 2022. In August last year, Akmal Burkhanov reported that the bill and the income declaration system were ready. He clarified that the bill was being finalized taking into account the recommendations of international organizations.
Among other draft regulations that the Senate will consider are amendments to legislation aimed at reducing informal employment, improving the investment and business environment in Karakalpakstan, improving legislation in the areas of ecology and public order, as well as the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
Additionally, amendments to the State Duty Law will be considered in connection with the optimization of its size for certain types of activities in the field of telecommunications and amendments to Article 483 of the Tax Code - “Temporary tax benefits”.
Along with this, the senators will hear a report from the Central Bank for 2022.
