Footage surfaced on social media showing police officers using firearms to stop a car in Tashkent city. The footage shows how officers fired twice from a pistol to stop GM Lacetti, the driver of which refused to stop.
It is not known if somebody was injured in the incident, or why the car was stopped by the use of weapons.
The Interior Ministry spokesman Shokhrukh Giyasov said that this situation was currently being studied.
Earlier in January 2022 in Tashkent, police officers had to use weapons to stop the driver of a Malibu car, who grossly violated the rules of the road.
Then the driver said that before the incident he “rested” in Beldersay for four days, drinking vodka and beer.
It turned out that earlier the driver was twice prosecuted for traffic violations. In 2021 alone, he was fined at least 7 times for traffic violations.
The Yunusabad district prosecutor's office launced a case under the Resistance to a representative of the authorities or a person performing a civic duty charge of the Criminal Code.
