President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who visited Moscow on a working visit on Tuesday, met with Russian president Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.
According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, the two leaders discussed the ways to "strengthen the Uzbek-Russian comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance ties."
They "exchanged sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Victory in World War II, warmly wishing well-being and prosperity to veterans, friendly peoples of the world".
Vladimir Putin also congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev "on the successful holding of a nationwide referendum on amendments to the Constitution."
The parties emphasized the importance of supporting existing and promoting promising projects of cooperation between leading enterprises and companies of the two countries, including within the framework of the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission.
They pointed to "the need to take coordinated measures to ensure the dynamics of mutual trade" and supported "active contacts at the level of the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia" and expressed interest "in continuing an intensive cultural and humanitarian exchange, including holding events in the field of healthcare, science and education, culture and art."
