Uzbekistan plans to set up an international commercial court, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced in his address at the second Tashkent International Investment Forum.

“Important measures have been taken to ensure guaranteed judicial protection of their rights. In this regard, we have upgraded the status of administrative courts and endowed them with even greater powers.

From now on, businesses and investors will not need to prove the legitimacy of their claims in court, on the contrary, now government agencies will be required to prove the legitimacy of their decisions. Any ambiguities that arise will be interpreted in favor of investors,” the head of state said.

He emphasized that “our laws contained mechanisms for enforcing the rulings of international arbitration courts.”

“Reforms to protect the rights of businesses will be continued this year as well. In particular, with the support of international experts, for the first time in our history, an international commercial court will be set up,” he underscored.
