This year, Uzbekistan plans to produce almost 6 million tons of coal. This became known on April 3 during the government meeting on measures to modernize heating systems in social facilities, which was chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the presidential press service, in recent years, coal production in the country had increased from 3 million to 5.4 million tons.
This year it is planned to produce almost 6 million tons. While, the demand for coal is much greater.
In this regard, the president reportedly gave instructions on attracting the private sector and new technologies to the development of promising deposits, improving the quality of coal.
As reported earlier, in Uzbekistan the heating systems of thousands of schools, hospitals and factories are planned to be converted to coal so that the situation with the energy crisis does not happen again.
