Tashkent will host the STC-2023 international space technology conference and the Youth Space Forum on April 25-27, the Uzbekcosmos agency said.
Reportedly, industry leaders will visit the conference to explore the potential for using space technologies in the economy of the Central Eurasian region.
“STC-2023 is a business-oriented event that will bring together national and regional space agencies, as well as business representatives from all over Central Eurasia,” the organizers underscored.
Uzbekistan will hold this conference for the second time. Last year, the event brought together more than 150 delegates, this year over 250 experts confirmed their participation.
The conference program is dedicated to international cooperation and investment, discussion of new satellite technologies, security, finance and regulation in the industry.
Key speakers of the conference: Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, Head of Uzbekcosmos Shukhrat Qodirov, Director of the International Astronautical Federation Christian Feitchiner, Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of the Turkish Space Agency Serdar Hussein Yıldırım, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Space Agency Azerkosmos Samaddin Asadov, Chairman of the Aerospace Committee of the Ministry digital development, innovation and aerospace industry of Kazakhstan Baubek Oralmagambetov and many others. The visit of heads of space agencies from more than 12 countries is also expected.
The conference was sponsored by world leaders in the space technology industry: Turksat (Turkey), ESRI (USA), MonocoSat/SSI Monoco (Kingdom of Monaco), Contec (South Korea), Eutelsat (France), IAI (Israel), Synspective (Singapore), Hughes (USA), Intersputnik (Russia), Maxar (USA), Planet (USA), Rohde & Schwarz (Germany), SES (Switzerland), Airbus (USA), Thales (France), Voyager (USA), SI Imaging (South Korea).
The conference will also host a youth forum - as the organizers noted, the first popular science event in Central Asia, which will bring together young researchers from more than 20 countries. The platform is expected to help promote space as a profession and the world's leading technology industry. More than 50 partner universities and 40 experts are expected to participate.
STC-2023 will include plenary sessions, panel discussions, workshops, G2B and B2B meetings.
A meeting of the heads of space agencies and relevant departments of the Organization of Turkic States is also planned, where the priorities for the development of the space industry in the region will be discussed.
“We are delighted that the event has returned to Uzbekistan in 2023 and we look forward to hosting it in our country in April before handing over the organization to another country in 2024,” Shukhrat Kadyrov, chief of Uzbekcosmos said.
