Non-governmental organizations based in the Central Asian countries, controlled by the US and the EU, as well as bloggers and the media outlets, are trying to make Russia an enemy of the Central Asian peoples, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told TASS.
In his opinion, Washington, "promising some kind of ephemeral economic support and dividends to the countries of Central Asia, is trying to get them to agree to deploy their military infrastructure in the region."
“Indeed, the US and the EU have noticeably stepped up contacts with the states of Central Asia. Our partners are required to condemn the special operation in Ukraine, to join the illegal anti-Russian sanctions, and to curtail cooperation with our country as a whole. In return, they have promised some kind of ephemeral "support for economic development" and other "dividends", claiming that they were allegedly capable of becoming a "profitable alternative" to Moscow and Beijing. Under this mute, Washington is trying to get the consent of the Central Asian states to deploy their military infrastructure in the region,” the deputy minister said.
Galuzin noted that "NGOs controlled by the US and the EU simultaneously operating in Central Asia, bloggers and the media are trying to make Russia an enemy of the Central Asian peoples, fostering nationalist and Russophobic sentiments in the societies."
"Obviously, there is a specific goal behind all this - to undermine the relations of alliance and strategic partnership between Russia and the Central Asian countries, to destroy the integration processes in the post-Soviet space," the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation concluded.
He did not specify which NGOs, media and bloggers he is talking about and did not elaborate on how the US and the EU are controlling them.
