Doc-1 Max and Ambronol syrups, imported to Uzbekistan by Quramax Medikal, were tested at laboratories before being imported at the Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines, and conformity certificates were issued for them. However, related regulations were grossly violated during the tests, as a result of which low-quality drugs were allowed to be sold.
This was stated by the State Security Service, the Investigation Department of which is conducting preliminary probe in a criminal case initiated against the officials of Quramax Medikal and the Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines.
As part of the criminal case, two senior employees of Quramax Medikal and two employees of the Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines were placed in the SSS detention center as suspects.
Along with this, the customs control of medicines imported by Quramax Medikal from India to Uzbekistan has been suspended. Similar drugs have been withdrawn from the country's pharmacies.
“The necessary steps have been taken to verify the compliance of the registration process in Uzbekistan with medicines owned by Quramax Medikal LLC with the established procedure, as well as the actions of authorized employees of the healthcare system in this case,” the State Security Service concluded.
