The State Statistics Committee unveiled Uzbekistan’s demographics in 100 years. Reportedly, in 1920, Uzbekistan’s permanent population was at 4.4 million people, and in 1930, this figure was equal to 4.9 million people.

While, in 1940 there were 6.6 million people, and in 1950 - 6.2 million .

Also, in 1960 the number of Uzbeks reached 8.4 million and 11.8 million in 1970.

The figure for further years:

  • 1980 - 15.8 million;
  • 1990 - 20.2 million;
  • 2000 - 24.5 million;
  • 2010 - 28 million;
  • 2020 - 33.9 million.

The most obvious takeaway from this dynamics is that Uzbekistan’s population has soared over the last 100 years, which grew from 4.4 million in 1920 to nearly 34 million in 2020—or total growth of 670% over the 100 years.
